Limitations

What BackupLatte cannot do with Linear today, and why. Most of these come from what Linear's API offers to apps.

Backups

Visibility of the connected user. A backup holds what the Linear user who connected the workspace can see. Private teams they are not a member of, and other people's personal items, are not included. See which account to connect with.
Whole workspace only. A backup always covers the whole workspace; you cannot pick teams.
Not an instant snapshot. Linear has no point-in-time export. A backup reads the workspace over a few minutes (longer for large workspaces) while people keep working. Records changed during the run are read again at the end where Linear allows filtering by change time; for the few sets where it does not, a record changed mid-backup may appear in its earlier version.
Not included by design: security settings (authentication, SSO/SCIM, IP restrictions), personal inboxes, favorites, drafts and private views, OAuth credentials and integration or webhook secrets.
Admin data needs an admin. The audit log, invitations, workspace settings, integrations and webhooks are backed up only with extended coverage.
One scheduled backup a day, plus one manual backup per workspace every 24 hours. See Scheduled and manual backups.

Not everything can be written back. Linear's API cannot create history, audit log entries, users, invitations, integrations, webhooks or agent activity. They stay in the download. See What is not restored.
Authors and dates. Restored records are created by the Linear user who connected the target; other authors are named in the text of comments and updates. Creation dates are kept for issues, comments, customers and releases; other dates are set by Linear.
Issue identifiers are assigned by the target workspace and can differ from the original.
People must exist in the target. Assignees and other people are matched by email to active members of the target. BackupLatte does not invite anyone.
The target's Linear plan applies. A target on a plan with fewer teams or without a feature (such as customers or cycles) receives what its plan allows; the rest is reported as skipped or Not in the target.
Restored records cannot be removed in one step. Restoring into a workspace that already holds work mixes the two. Restore into a new, empty workspace when in doubt.
