Getting started

BackupLatte is preparing to launch. Account creation and backups are not available yet. Join the waitlist for updates.

Quick start

Five minutes from sign-up to a scheduled backup. You need an email address and a Linear account that can authorise apps for the workspace you want to back up.

1. Create an account

1. Open the app and choose Create an account.
2. Enter your email and a password of at least 8 characters, then choose Create account.

Creating an account is free. Backups and restores need a plan, which you choose next.

2. Choose a plan

1. Open Billing and pick the plan that fits the number of active members in your Linear workspaces. See Plans and billing for how members are counted.
2. Pay in the checkout. Payment is handled by Paddle, our Merchant of Record.

The plan becomes active as soon as Paddle confirms the payment; the billing page refreshes by itself.

3. Connect a Linear workspace

1. In Linear, open the workspace you want to back up. Linear connects the workspace you have open, so switch to it first if you belong to several.
2. In BackupLatte, choose Connect Linear (or Connect another workspace later on).
3. Linear shows what BackupLatte asks for — read and write access. Choose Authorize.

You are sent back to BackupLatte with the workspace connected. More detail, including which Linear account to connect with: Connect a workspace.

4. Your first snapshot

The first backup runs within the hour of connecting. After that, one backup runs every day at the hour you choose in the workspace's Settings (02:00 UTC unless you change it). You can also start one yourself with Run backup now — once per workspace every 24 hours.

While a backup runs, its row shows live progress. When it finishes you can open Download… to see what it holds, or Restore… to put it back into Linear.

5. Adjust the settings

In the workspace's Settings:

• Daily backup at — the hour (UTC) of the daily backup.
• Retention days — how long snapshots are kept, 1 to 365 days (7 by default). See Retention.
• Extended coverage — also back up the audit log, invitations, workspace settings, integrations and webhooks. Needs a Linear admin; see Extended coverage.
• Email me about problems — an email when a backup fails or has gaps, and when backups work again. On by default; see Email alerts.
